Currently only two NFL teams have official and full-time marching bands, The Baltimore Ravens and The Washington Commanders. We're asking the NFL to expand more opportunities for marching bands to perform at games and league events. Give marching bands more opportunity to showcase. While some bands have appeared at NFL events, these opportunities are limited and rarely receive national attention. We believe the NFL can do more by creating regular opportunities for high school, college, and HBCU marching bands to perform regularly throughout the season. Whether through halftime showcases, pregame performances, the national anthem, themed nights, or ceremonies. Another option could be a nationally televised annual marching band event such as an NFL National Marching Band Showcase. This can be an annual event that celebrates high school, college, and HBCU bands from across the country on national television. Band members deserve more visibility, give the next generation of musicians the same national spotlight that athletes receive.
