give Crimea to Ukraine in Age of History III

give Crimea to Ukraine in Age of History III
The Issue
As an amateur American geopolitics expert, mapper, and lover of history, I am deeply concerned about the portrayal of Crimea in the upcoming game, Age of History 3's modern-day scenario. The current depiction supports and normalizes the illegal Russian occupation of Crimea, which is a gross misrepresentation of reality. This is not just a matter of game mechanics but also one that affects our understanding and perception of global politics.
The annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014 has been widely condemned by international bodies such as the United Nations (UN), which affirmed its commitment to Ukraine's territorial integrity through resolution 68/262. This resolution was supported by an overwhelming majority with 100 votes in favor, demonstrating global consensus on this issue.
Critics have expressed concerns about current Russian control over Crimea as explaining this detail, however, it does not match the borders of control at the time of which the scenario takes place, that is January 1st of 2022. at the time Russia controlled some parts of southeastern Ukraine as well as Crimea. another detail that would be missing for accurate control borders (known as de facto) is the missing separatist states
one thing that needs to be taken into account is perception, during the Vietnam War, the Tet Offensive was going well for the United States, however, the media showed it as a failure and because of that the United States pulled out, this shows how the way something is perceived can affect it. it is important that Ukraine is perceived and shown whole to stand up against the tyranny of putin
This is a detail only in the upcoming Age of History 3, as in Age of History 2, the modern-day scenario, which takes place in 2018, Crimea is shown accurately as part of Ukraine
Incorporating accurate geopolitical realities into games like Age Of History 3 can play a significant role in educating players about world affairs. It's crucial that we hold Łukasz Jakowski accountable for making sure borders are accurate to the real world
