Give Canada’s Truck Drivers a Fair Hearing -Extend the Deadline for Hearing

The Honourable Minister of Transport Canada
The Honourable Minister of Labour (Employment and Social Development Canada)
We, the undersigned Canadian truck drivers, transport professionals, and members of the public, petition the Government of Canada and provincial transport regulators to grant an extension for the ongoing hearing and consultation processes affecting truck drivers and Driver Inc. operators.
Canada’s truck drivers — the men and women who keep our shelves stocked and our economy moving — are being shut out of fair and transparent representation in hearings and enforcement reviews concerning labour classification, compliance audits, and industry policy.
Thousands of independent drivers (Driver Inc.), as well as company drivers, are directly affected by administrative decisions being made without their input or proper notice.
These hearings carry serious economic and legal consequences — including suspension of licences, loss of income, penalties, and reputational harm — yet the very people affected have not been given adequate time or access to present their side.
We, through the United Canadian Truckers Rights & Advocacy Federation (UCTRAF), call upon the federal and provincial authorities to:
Grant an immediate extension of all relevant hearing and response deadlines related to truck driver compliance, licensing, and Driver Inc. audits;
Schedule an additional public hearing day to allow independent drivers and their representatives to appear and present evidence;
Recognize UCTRAF as a representative body for professional truck drivers to ensure ongoing consultation and balanced participation in future proceedings; and
Guarantee procedural fairness and due process so that no decision is made without the voices of those who drive the trucks being heard.
We believe that Fair representation before any tribunal or regulatory body;
Equal protection under law, regardless of incorporation status;
Transparency in government and regulatory decision-making; and
Respect for the essential workers who kept this country moving during crisis and continue to do so today.
Truck drivers deserve a seat at the table — not a decision made behind closed doors.
Our Commitment
The United Canadian Truckers Rights & Advocacy Federation (UCTRAF) stands ready to:
Provide verified testimony and supporting documentation;
Assist regulators with factual industry data; and
Work collaboratively to improve compliance, safety, and fairness across Canada’s transport sector.
We are not asking for privilege — only a fair hearing and the time to be heard.
How You Can Help
Sign this petition to:
Demand fairness and due process for Canadian truck drivers;
Show support for transparency and respect in transport regulation;
Ensure government decisions reflect real working conditions and lived experience on the road.
Every signature adds strength to the drivers’ voice.
Every name is one more person saying: “Let us be heard.”
