Give Anthony Sanchez life in prison

Give Anthony Sanchez life in prison
The Issue
Desree Mendoza was more than a statistic — she was a beacon of hope and strength for many, a dedicated nurse, a mother of five, and a passionate advocate in Abilene, Texas. Her tragic and senseless murder by Anthony Sanchez just days before Christmas last year left an irreplaceable void in the lives of her family and friends. As a survivor of domestic violence myself, I am utilizing my platform as an advocate and artist to honor Desree and amplify the call for justice through community art initiatives.
Anthony Sanchez's actions were not only an attack on Desree but on our entire community and the values she so fiercely championed. In light of these horrific events, it is pivotal for the justice system to ensure Sanchez faces the consequences of his actions. Giving him nothing less than life in prison not only serves justice for Desree and her family but also sends a strong message to abusers that such heinous acts will not be tolerated.
Our community in Abilene is standing together to demand accountability, and I have painted the city purple in honor of Desree and to raise awareness about the scourge of domestic violence. Desree’s legacy must be preserved, and her mission to fight domestic violence entrusted to our hands.
By signing this petition, you pledge support for Desree's family and the countless other victims and survivors who deserve justice and protection. Let us urge the judges and legal system to deliver a sentence reflective of the profound loss and pain caused by Sanchez's actions. Your signature can help ensure that justice is served and that Desree’s strength continues to inspire us. Please sign this petition to give Anthony Sanchez life in prison and stand against domestic violence.
