Spiders are very important everywhere. They control the populations of many insects that would become overpopulated without them. This is not only severely important to the balance of nature, but also to human's farming and agriculture, as they keep away crop eating insects. But what do we repay them with? Well, you would think it should be legal protection, as they are highly important and living things too. Well, that's not exactly the rights they have.

In the UK, there are 654 known species of spiders. Out of those, only 2 species are legally protected. But 84 species are vulnerable or endangered, and 18 are critically endangered. And critically endangered means EXTREME HIGH risk of extinction. This would be devastating to U.K wildlife. They face problems from pesticides, insecticides and habitat loss. Spiders are under huge threat from these problems. These spiders need protection, and they need it NOW.

This is why now is the time to act. These species' lives are on the line. But you can help. This is why I urge you to sign my petition to protect UK spiders and their habitats, and help make this happen. One step at a time, we can make the world a better place.
