Slow traffic into Ruatoria!

Slow traffic into Ruatoria!
The issue
The residents of Ruatoria are becoming increasingly concerned with the traffic speeding into our community.
With limited footpaths and an increasing presence of logging and metal trucks it is essential that we protect our children and our community at large. Daily, local residents are seeing hundreds of cars speed past our homes, past children walking to school, past whanau walking or running. Very soon the children of Ruatoria will begin walking to Waiapu river by the masses, help us keep them safe. And as of 2022 the school busses will no longer be picking up tamariki that live on Harrison or Factory Road, meaning that there will be a significant increase in children walking to and from school along a road that is becoming extremely dangerous.
We are asking for lower speed limits as far back at the Tiki Turn Off and dual direction speed cameras.
The more people that sign and support this petition the more power we will have to negotiate serious protection measures in our community.
