We have just had a second car go through a fence at Spongebay this morning on Wainui Road in the past 6 months.

The speed limit has been reduced to 60kmph but we are still seeing cars end up in fences at Sponge Bay subdivision.

It’s just a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed from a car or logging truck.

 
The cycle way is very well used by a range of Gisborne commuters may it be children heading to school, the school bus, adults biking into work or heading out to the beach with your family.

A barrier would hopefully help prevent major injury or death.
