Hello seniors, I know during these hard times it has been a major disappointment not to have graduation or prom in the way we always looked forward to. Though it is unclear what the school has officially decided concerning these events, one idea has come forward that I would like to garner support for. Our High School could host a “drive-in” style graduation ceremony similar to drive-in movie theatres. Families would drive to the designated location, stay in their cars, and watch the ceremony on a big screen. Along with showing the class day video, student's senior photos can be shown on the big screen. Valedictorians and other student speakers could pre-record their speeches to be shown on the screen as well. Only the most important faculty would be on the stage and alphabetically, each student could walk across the stage and get handed their diploma. Then proceed back to their car. All students, faculty, and other attendees would be required to wear a mask, and gloves when receiving their diploma. Once the event concludes, fireworks can be lit and students can wave to the students in the cars nearby as a last hooray for the class of 2020.
