Dear Derby Animal Rights Group, I am emailing in reference to your recent petition. As CEO of giffgaff, it’s important for me to respond and explain our position on this subject. I appreciate all of the points you make, and commend your passion and energy in promoting your beliefs. As I am sure you have already gathered from the member responses to your posts on the community forum, giffgaff is member-run, which means that our members choose which registered charities are selected in the lead up to our bi-annual Payback activity. Our members work hard to run our network, and in return for their support they receive Payback in June and December each year. However, one of the biggest rewards for many members is that they benefit from choice – they decide how the network is run, and make the majority of decisions. For this reason, I welcome you to share your views on the giffgaff forum, for all members to see and make their own decisions based on the information presented to them. We will always support our members’ decisions, We will always support our members’ decisions, hence us matching the donation amount to the charity of their choice.
