Gianni Infantino Must Resign as FIFA President
The Issue
Gianni Infantino has crossed every line a FIFA president should respect.
Under his leadership, political interference has reached the field itself. After Donald Trump personally intervened, FIFA suspended Folarin Balogun’s automatic ban, creating the unacceptable impression that powerful politicians and countries can bend football’s rules.
Infantino also uses FIFA’s enormous financial power to pressure national associations into accepting his plans. He has surrounded himself with controversial political figures, weakened transparency and repeatedly placed personal power and commercial interests above the integrity of the game.
His latest proposal would transfer FIFA’s commercial operations — including the World Cup — to a new company partly owned by private investors, reportedly involving Joshua Kushner’s investment firm. Reports that Infantino could later lead this company raise further serious concerns about personal enrichment.
Football does not belong to presidents, politicians or private investors. It belongs to the players and supporters.
FIFA needs independent, transparent and accountable leadership. Gianni Infantino must resign.
Football belongs to the people. FIFA must be accountable. Infantino must go.
