The pace of development east of Regina has created a need for a White City/ Emerald Park highschool.  Currently, in White City alone, there are over 380 residents that will be heading to highschool in the next 4 years.  That doesn’t include any of the surrounding area kids that are currently bussed to either of the elementary schools in White City and Emerald Park, or for any growth to the towns.

Currently all the highschool children in the area, are bussed to Balgonie.  For some kids that is a short bus ride.  For others it is a lengthier bus ride.  For all, it is having to find a billet(a place for their kids to stay in inclement weather) in a town most are not a part of. For some parents that live on the edges of the service area this is more problematic.  

Prairie Valley School Division (PVSD) and the towns have been talking to the Ministry of Education for sometime now. PVSD has stated as of January 2023, a highschool in this area is their number one ask for capital from the Ministry of Education. White City has  27.64 acres set aside for the highschool/ multi-use recreation centre.

How can you help?  Write a letter or sign this petition, requesting the highschool to put into action. Individual letters with specific reasoning about why this matters to you carry more weight.  However petitions still help.  Please add your voice by adding your name.
