As of January 23, 2025, the guitar center in Gilroy shut down permanently, which has saddened many local musicians and artists. Most of the musicians here in Salinas wish there were more music stores around since there are only nothing but Starbucks' being added when we have 18 already, along with many restaurants. But the one thing the music community has  been craving for is a Guitar Center as soon as the Gilroy location closed down. If we can come together as a both a community and as musicians to make this dream come true, then surely we will achieve victory in getting a new music store here in the Salad Bowl. The best option to open this place would be within Northridge Mall, since it is the center of popularity for businesses old and new.
