Get the McCaskey Family to sell the Chicago Bears

Get the McCaskey Family to sell the Chicago Bears
The Issue
Since their inception, the Chicago Bears have been owned by the Halas/McCaskey family. They are one of the only two remaining original franchises from the founding of the NFL in 1920. While at one time they enjoyed great success, in the last few decades, save a handful of years they have become a shell of their former selves. The last 4 or 5 years have been especially bad and poor decisions by the McCaskeys are partly to blame and they seem to show no interest in taking concrete action to right the team, trying to remain involved in coaching and personnel decisions instead of staying out of it and letting more football minded individuals assume that role.
The fans are rightfully getting upset at the state of their beloved teams. Bad years happen. However this has been years of poor coaching and general manager hires, which results in poor draft choices, failure to develop rookie quarterbacks and the McCaskeys keep their hands in all of these decisions, so as the common denominator in all of this it is clear they are the problem.
As such we call on Virginia and George McCaskey to bow to reality, face that they no longer have what it takes to build a winning team in the 21st century, and ultimately accept that it is time to sell the team to owners who have a better idea of what it takes to win in this day and age. Fans are getting restless as evidenced by the “Sell the Team” chants in the 12/26/24 game against the Seattle Seahawks, and it is time to sell the team before they drive longtime fans away with more years of failure. They owe it to fans to put a team on the field that is worth them spending money on to see, that will actually be competitive and that largely has not happened for years. Enough is enough.
