Get The Good Grub a Street License!

The Issue

The Good Grub is a female owned and run, 100% vegan restaurant in Eastbourne - the only one of its kind!

Chloe (21) opened the restaurant on 1st July 2023, and since then The Good Grub has blossomed into a fantastic community for vegans and non-vegans alike! Chloe has now bought a food truck and was hoping to launch as a street trader in Eastbourne, just outside the restaurant, so people have the choice to eat in or takeaway!

Unfortunately, the local council have rejected her application due to 'too many traders offering the same products.' First of all, no one in Eastbourne offers anything on their menu that The Good Grub does. Second of all, unfortunately we think it has been rejected due to Chloe only being 21 as she had a similar problem when it came to being accepted for the restaurant - she got told to 'do her homework' depsite having written up a 5 year cash flow, a full business plan and having run The Good Grub as a pop-up restaurant for over a year.

Despite these difficult times, Chloe has created a fantastic restaurant that currently employees 8 local women, and will have increased job availability if a street trading license is approved. She also works in conjunction with Warming up the Homeless to provide care packages, clothing and hot meals to those less fortunate. The Good Grub not only provides delicious vegan food, but has gluten-free and allergen-free options available, as well as promotes an environmentally-friendly lifestyle.

Please sign this petition so The Good Grub Truck can trade outside of the current Good Grub restaurant throughout the summer, and provide stunning food for all!
