Flock cameras are a privately owned company, that has no stake in Las Vegas as a community. It is a mass surveillance tool and when in the wrong hands can and has put a lot of people in danger. We deserve privacy, we deserve to be able to walk our streets without fear of being watched, we deserve to opt into surveillance not fight to opt out of surveillance. But since we are now in the position of wasted funds spent on flock cameras, all of which could have gone to infrastructure that could legitimately prevent crime long term, now we need to push for them to be taken down and have the city change priorities.
