The proposed location of the dog park will change the feel of the park immeasurably. (Imagine the view of green grass down the center of the park replaced with a view of fencing and brown wood chips. Also less open space and picnic areas, which ironically was the #1 request for Poinsettia Park in city's survey). 2. The City's prioritization of improvements was based on flawed data (the survey, which only 386 people completed, did not make clear that we would have to sacrifice the grassy bowl to get new amenities). 3. The proposed location of the park in the grassy bowl area was not properly marketed to the people who use it most. (Many of the closest neighbors did not get any type of survey or notice).
