There's no reason Dune should get all the attention while the highest-grossing movie of the year only gets 1. The Oscars should nominate more popular movies to keep viewership. Their ratings are falling hard and it's easy to see why. They nominate films that nobody has seen just to keep their selfishness and stubborn bias towards quality films at bay. They refuse to see the greatness in action-packed visual storytelling; It transcends anything that Scorsese or Coppola puts out in terms of world-building and franchise success. Fans want what they want and Spider-Man has been hailed as the best and most popular MCU character of all time. This must be done to keep the interests of the people and the audiences around. Make this happen and nominate Spider-Man: No Way Home for Best Picture. Don't Look Up is a political agenda of a director. Cinema is described as something that entertains you. It makes you laugh, cry and feel something. The best movies are the ones that do just that. Tom Holland's film deserves to be seen as one of the greats in that aspect in the visual storytelling medium. No Way Home is a masterpiece that should be a Best Picture contender and more. Not all Best Picture nominees have to be serious all the time. Most of the nominees for 2022 are not serious at all and Spider-Man would fit perfectly in that line-up of movies. Everyone wanted Spider-Man and The Academy made the biggest mistake they've ever made, which is not including it. These "critics" don't know what real entertainment is if that's the case. There are more moments in this movie that I felt connected to than any movie ever, including Scorsese's movies. I feel like as a filmmaker, he's losing his touch. Superheroes fill people with joy and affection and the MCU has created fans of them for life. They make people laugh, cry and feel such precious emotions that they haven't felt for a while. Anyone that doesn't realize this is crushing the dreams and hopes of those that care about this stuff. They want to we their favorite character triumph, on and off screen. These character incarnations have been so iconic to so many people forever. This movie deserves to be loved, enjoyed and praised across the board as it made fans out of non-fans of comic book material. Sam's of the MCU defend it because they're affectionate towards it. They want to see them succeed because it's what they are passionate about. MCU forever and nothing will change that, NOT EVEN THE ACADEMY. This movie deserves to be recognized as a landmark piece of iconic visual storytelling; A piece of emotionally breathtaking cinema that captivates even the smallest of comic book movie fans, even just movies. Something that was a part of so many people's lives for such a long time has fans and deserves to see this movie win at the Oscars. It's a landmark piece of art that will be loved forever in the eyes of the general public and the people. This will allow The Oscars to learn their lesson and nominate popular movies for Best Picture.
