To whom it may concern,

This email is regarding your brand ambassador Dinakshie Priyasad tarnishing the good name of your brand. Over the past few days your brand ambassador has received many backlash due to her support in blackface and white supremacy ideologies. When people were politely trying to educate her on this matter, and why it is offensive, considering the current world affairs, she decided to post their personal information on her account, which has over 800k followers. Moreover, she asked her 800k followers to report the account of a local MUA who shed some light on the situation, in which as a result, her account got taken down. Instead of either publicly apologizing or telling her side of the story, she decided to publicly humiliate everyone by putting up Instagram stories, revealing their personal information, so that her 800k followers would cyber bully them.

Dinakshie is known for being the face of “fair and lovely” and she advocates using bleaching cream in order for people to look “fair” and “lovely”. Implying, that people with dark skinned are not “fair” and “lovely”. Bollywood actors/actresses such as, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Abhay Deol who have also represented these brands have regretted representing the brand and have apologized through media.

The way she handled the whole situation is extremely unprofessional and this is the main reason people are unhappy with someone like Dinakshie representing Dialog and tarnishing the brands good name. Furthermore, the language she has used to insult the people who have spoken up against this issue, is disturbing. i.e: ‘Go watch the bloody drama’. It is a real pity to those who are being influenced by these people & the multinationals who are associating their brands with same.

I sincerely hope your brand does not represent these ideologies which are expressed by your own brand ambassador. Kathryn Dennis was dropped as a fashion ambassador after her racism accusations (https://toofab.com/2020/05/14/southern-charms-kathryn-dennis-dropped-as-fashion-ambassador-after-racist-tweets/ L’Oreal drooped their brand ambassador for comments on racism and white privilege (L’Oréal Just Dropped Its First Transgender Brand Ambassador For Comments On Racism & White Privilege).

There have been many instances where brands have dropped their brand ambassadors due to their actions which have caused hurt to the society. Also, would you want your brand to be proudly represented by an individual who threatened a teenager to publicly apologize or else “ people will spread more hate on you”. She further has threatened to take legal action against people who were simply educating others on ‘blackface’. Therefore, for the above mentioned reasons I sincerely request you to consider dropping her as your brand ambassador as I believe her racist/colorist ideologies does not stand with your brand.
