Victorians! Take Back Our Roads!

Victorians! Take Back Our Roads!

The issue

Are you tired of driving at 40km/h for nothing? The amount of 40km/h zones around Melbourne, and wider Victoria, is nothing short of laughable.

40km/h areas for school zones and busy districts makes sense, but over the last 3-5 years, Local Councils and Vic Roads are surely having a laugh.

Wide and vacant roads have been made 40km/h. Long stretches of roads that used to be 60km/h and/or 50km/h are now 40km/h. There is no reason for this apart from the decision makers wanting to add to Victoria's label of being a Nanny State.

Councils have argued that 40km/h roads have reduced road incidents. Well, so would driving at 5km/h. There has to be a middle ground between driving ridiculously slow and safety.

Please sign this petition to Take Back Our Roads!

If we, as motorists, continue to allow this to happen, give it 5-10 years and the limits will be reduced even further!
