Get Alex and his partner home
The Issue
Alex Milton has been a best mate to me for nearly 30 years.
He was born and lived his life in the Medway towns of Kent.
On leaving school he took up a bricklaying apprenticeship leading on to being a very successful and respected self employed builder. He has never been in any trouble with the Police or authorities and has always been a law abiding and hard working tax payer.
Alex has family in Sittingbourne and Rainham that includes an adult daughter with learning disabilities and an elderly mother who lives alone.
He has just turned 59 and should be 60 in June 2027.
Alex spends his time between UK and Thailand and has done for more than 15 years now.
He has a Thai partner who he lives with of 10+ years even buying her a house in the village where her family still live.
Alex has been diagnosed with MND and his condition is worsening by the day. Now unable to do many things unaided.
He has a property in Rainham that he needs to get back to the UK to sort out before he passes.
He would also obviously wish to spend some valuable time with his family.
To be able to acheive this Alex would require assistance.
He has applied for a visa for his partner to join him for a 1 month vacation.
However the Home Office has refused this application citing they believe her intentions are to remain in England.
This could not be further from the truth.
His partner has never been to UK before, knows of nobody here and more importantly has a daughter and family in Thailand that she is close to and who rely on her.
This country allows hundreds of undocumented people to enter and stay in our country on a weekly basis yet wont allow Alex to bring his documented partner so she can ensure he travels safely and manages to see his family and to get his personal things arranged.
I plead beg and urge you all to give this delicate important issue your support and undivided attention
