Get a New D303 Superintendent

Get a New D303 Superintendent

The Issue

SCROLL DOWN FOR 2/11/25 UPDATE

Hello, I am a currently enrolled student in D303 and with the superintendent not cancelling school on 1/21/25 i feel like the need for a new superintendent is needed because even last year before we had a blizzard a few days before the superintendent had refused to cancel school which later in the day had caused some kids to get home an hour late, and then with this year, at 7AM the real temperature will be -10 and the wind chill will be almost -30 which will put every student who rides the bus at risk of frostbite because there is a chance some busses will be early and some will be late which means the late busses will put the kids at a higher risk of frostbite if they're waiting for over 10 minutes or if they need to walk for about 5 minutes and then wait an extra 5-10 minutes there is an extremely high chance that the kids waiting for the bus will get frostbite because there is not a real way to cover an exposed skin while waiting for the bus even though many kids parents could drive them to the stop but a lot of kids parents could have to leave for work before there bus gets there which would make the kids who have to walk to there stop at an extremely high chance of getting frostbite. And for the kids who would have to walk to school, if they're parents can't drive them to school then they would be forced to walk in negative temperatures for 5-10 minutes which would also put them at an extremely high rate of getting frostbite while walking because if they are next to a road walking then when a car passes it would create a wind that would then put the kids at a higher risk of getting frostbite while walking. These are all the reasons I believe that D303 needs a new Superintendent for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond.

UPDATE: once again, the superintendent has refused the cancel school even with the snow storm that is going to hit illinois, the snowstorm is going to bring extremely dangerous conditions while driving, although in the morning the roads will be normal, but after school the roads will be slick with all the snow still melting which will create extremely dangerous conditions for the buses because with the roads being slick the buses braking will take longer, there will be an increased risk for car crashes after school putting kids at risk and will delay the time kids get home, even last year in January when the superintendent refused to cancel school for a snowstorm some kids, had gotten home almost 1 and a half hours late because of how bad the conditions on the roads were and the road conditions were still extremely slick like how they are expected to be tomorrow.
