The Issue

After years of working in nursing-home care, I believe Georgia needs enforceable CNA-to-resident staffing standards.

CNAs are responsible for bathing, feeding, toileting, repositioning, transfers, answering call lights, fall prevention, and many other essential needs. When CNAs are assigned too many residents, it becomes extremely difficult to give every resident the safe, timely and dignified care they deserve.

I'm asking Georgia lawmakers to establish safe staffing standards of 1 CNA to 8 residents on day shift, 1:10 on evening shift, and 1:12 on night shift, with additional staffing requirements based on residents' level of care.

I've already begun contacting Georgia legislators and legislative committees about making this a law.

Now I need Georgia CNAs, nurses, nursing-home employees, residents' families, and concerned citizens to stand with me.

Our elderly and disabled residents deserve safe staffing, quality care, and dignity. Our caregivers deserve enough help to provide it.
