HELLO all 242,642 of you!!! BIG NEWS!!!! The European Commission has proposed to make a radical change that could lead to the success of our campaign! The EC has argued that member states should set their own reduced VAT rates, to secure “greater flexibility” across the Union. If the proposal is accepted, then our campaign will succeed. Rather than having to jump through numerous EU-related hoops on a continental scale, we will simply need to convince Parliament to end tampon tax – which we have already done! This change may well have been proposed in reaction to the mass of emails sent to MEPs by you amazing people over the past few weeks. THANK YOU ALL for being so dedicated as you always have been, and for pushing for this change. I have recorded all responses send in to us and will chase up MEPs in September when they return.
