George Madgwick must resign. IMMEDIATELY!

Public office comes with responsibility, accountability and public trust.

George Madgwick is facing 35 criminal charges, including serious sexual offences. These are deeply concerning allegations, and we fully recognise that he is entitled to the presumption of innocence and a fair trial.

However, the issue this petition raises is not about determining guilt. That is a matter for the courts.

It is about whether someone facing charges of this seriousness and scale should continue to occupy positions of public responsibility and represent the communities who elected them.

Reform UK has suspended George Madgwick from the party, but suspension does not remove him from elected office.

Residents deserve transparency, accountability and confidence in those representing them.

We believe the responsible course of action is for George Madgwick to resign from his positions as councillor while the criminal proceedings take place.

This is not about political point-scoring or party politics. It is about the standards we should expect from anyone entrusted with representing the public.

We are calling on George Madgwick to do the right thing and resign immediately.
