Save iconic Riverside chalet from Developers

The Issue

I am fighting to save Riverside, John Buchanan's chalet on Harveys Towans, Hayle, UK from the developers who are pushing for it to be demolished.

Riverside has been an iconic feature of the Hayle river mouth for over 100 years and is an important historic building to be preserved on this UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has been in the Buchanan family for 70 years, serving first as the 'Tearooms and Store' for the workers at the Power Station in the 1950s and later as Anchor Pottery in the 1970s.
John Buchanan was a prominent local potter, Guild of Master Craftsmen, and a member of the St Ives Society of Artists. Sadly he passed away at his beloved Riverside on Sept 9th, 2020, bequeathing his home to me in his Will, to safeguard its future.
This site is under imminent threat from the developers. In my opinion, they have already devastated a large area of North Quay/ the Towans and appear unsympathetic to its importance both historically and environmentally. Harveys Towans is currently unprotected, when all the surrounding coast from Carrack Gladden to Gwithian has SSSI status. Natural England needs to tighten up this loophole so that this incredibly precious gateway to our wonderful port town of Hayle, is not lost forever.

I have been served a Notice to Quit the chalet on October 29th and I am now desperate to save my home and this important historic building, as per John's wishes. Please help me in my cause by signing this petition and sharing it.
