MY HOME IS MY HOMELAND or it should be but the reality for millions of us is that it is NOT . And as human beings , the only precious matter we have as simple and normal human beings is our life to give to protect others, our relatives, our children and the continuity and permanence of our humanity. 

I worked with MSF in the 1980’s and 1990’s in Africa and the Middle East and I naively thought that their future would be brighter.
Saving normal and simple people’s life seems the hardest thing to do and yet should be the most natural one to do. 

The repercussion of what is happening today in Europe is also damaging for multiple poorer countries in the world who have always been at the limit of survival from hunger. This is why I learned about “ Human Nutrition” for a year in London during my work with MSF as I considered it was a knowledge that I lacked so much.

All my life, l never considered myself as a priority. In the 1998’s after waiting for decent repairs in my home flat acquired in 1995, I mobilised myself as I was living in England, considered as a  country with housing rights and because I realised that the landlord was only trying to kick me out of my home. 

I came from a background where we don’t receive help, we receive what we work hard for even if underpaid. There is no desire to become an oligarch, investors, or take advantage of any other human beings. By saying that, I am describing the majority of us, hard-workers, having plenty of good will and naive. 

Patience for recognition of my housing rights and the desire for peace destroyed my entire health.

Seeing what is happening in a country nearby, I wrote in one of the latest updates to help us or at least help me keep HOPE with a text from a human being who lived in Europe and  stood up for his country and rights all his life. It is helpful to read for anyone who needs to keep Hope alive despite the pain. It seems that nothing much in our world  has changed from my birth to 2022 apart from some technologies.

I am at the end of my life and want some changes for the next generation. We are in 2022 and I started to wait for my housing right's recognition from 1995. MY COUNTRY IS THE ONLY ONE IN EUROPE WHERE YOU PAY FOR YOUR HOME ALL YOUR LIFE BUT CANNOT HAVE THE PROPER REPAIRS BECAUSE THAT RIGHT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU, DAMAGES CAN BE DONE BY THE FREEHOLDER AND YOU HAVE TO FIGHT A LIFE LONG STRUGGLE FOR PERHAPS SOME RECOGNITION. CAN WE CHANGE OR AT LEAST IMPROVE ?With regard to my housing problem, the legal team wanted to prevent the theft of my flat-home, I wanted just to be able to live with allowed comfort following the definition of the WHO ( world health organisation) for health and preferred my disrepairs and damage to be looked at . They were the experts and I allowed them to do what they thought best. I have acquired knowledge from what I lived through and still living and would like to share with the right people to bring improvement for the others who will go through a same ordeal.

While my flat is still being damaged, degraded by the dismissals of proper repairs, there was ,unknown to me, building work that took place  in the last few years for the landlord, and since polluting buzzing sounds on-off are happening in nearly all my rooms. Patience was my hope and now the despair and destruction of another entire country homeland has halted my efforts as I am not a priority. Can we care for our own home when so much pain is inflicted elsewhere even if our life's health  has been undermined for a generation ?

While I am trying to ask the application and respect of our housing rights , a small exergue on 

HUMAN RIGHTS that we will be talking more and more in the next few months. 

The ECHR , European Committee or more precisely European Convention of Human Rights was NOT created by and is NOT part of the EU.  

For the families who did not live in Europe during WWII, this committee was created by all the Europeans who had lived through  the war and did not want to see WWIII.  The English, the Irish, the Scottish, the Welsh and even as far as the Russians. They , the Europeans , all joined the ECHR, freely.

The only country that has left so far is Russia after the end of february 2022, I am unsure about the will of the Russians. The other countries who will want to leave such committee that they entered willingly after the war, are countries for whom the Human Rights of their people do NOT MATTER or they have become land grabbers through all means including full life and infrastructure destruction to prevent any revival 

I hope that xenophobic tendencies will not make us forget our Humanity.

Coming back to the housing rights , it is such a minimalist BASIC Right .       What can  push people to deny it  apart from financial gains ? 

My MP wrote to me in February stating they were looking into requests for changes in the law .That means the law will change after my life has ended, if the changes are ever introduced.  I will delay my own death as much as I can for the changes to take place so these rights become deeply embedded into our housing rights and to prevent anyone else from being overlooked for a lifetime .It can still happen as there is no protection yet.

It is only Your support that can give courage to keep fighting the corruption and the inertia in this area of housing and property . 

Only a dime will be requested from the wealthy oppressors who without doubt can accept to give away one million for the benefit of all when they enjoy one billion for their own benefit.

I do not have a TV but I read what our journalists see and write about.  I did not help , as much as l wanted to, the health or nutritional health of many people despite trying because of lack of continuity but for the housing rights this only relies on my brain still working and until then , here below is my petition with its updates and my hope that you are ready to help put the changes through .

HOUSING RIGHTS. The heart of this petition is about housing safety, well being and peaceful living inside your home and not being thrown out by events outside of your control.  It is to inform you of what can happen when you are too trusting, about some of the existing unscrupulous deals, scam or fraud that can happen to you  . It is recognised by meaningful lawmakers who are trying to make it become unlawful and illegal . This is why your help is needed. I am not only trying to do it because it is the right thing to do but l don’t want another person to go through the same life events. And while I respect the law, it sometimes needs a push for the people without a voice.

How has the law allowed my FLAT, my HOME which I paid for to be stolen.

The poem was written as in 2020 a small change happened, apart from the big one, the pandemic one

My story is not an unusual one but in July 2020 the law commission took pity or more likely realised it should be unlawful what happened to me over the last 27 years.  

They proposed to bring some changes in the law to avoid the same abuse happening again , the THEFT of your HOME by a legal loophole.  (see updates on interaction with the law commission on the 10& 22.9.2021)

27y ago I naively started taking steps to improve life quality at home ( see update 22.8.2021 about steps taken) . 10y after my health took a turn for the worse, and I was swamped with family commitments. Does this sound familiar ? And while under the Influential landlord's omnipotence and rules . 

1. By supporting the law commission's proposal , there will be impetus for the government to stop the fraud. 

I lost my home flat  ownership in 2014 after I requested insulation and remedy to be made from disrepairs dating from 1996. I should have been entitled to proper ones  and waited until now for above 27years. (see update on What is being petitioned apart from housing rights 9.9.2021)  

That is why I need to see the  CHANGES IN THE LAW so the same fate won’t happen unfairly again to others and spoil their life. We know changes in the law can take a lifetime. By sharing my 27 years story of struggle for housing rights with you and through you to others,  I would have a chance to see changes happening before the end of mine.

The Next step that the law commission and the government need to introduce after stopping the fraud is facilitating 

The correct use of technology and the use of right repairs at the right time ( see update on your signing will bring down this wall of inertia 14.10.2021)

DO you know that the technology for insulation has been available 

for more than a generation and is not being used or very sparingly ?

DO you know that you can reduce your energy expenses  with repairs done 

with a greater standard of care and with your say ! 

when you acquire the share of the building where your home flat is ? 

DO you know that unfortunately your say and your share can currently be stolen  at no expenses by the landlord by a simple trick left from our medieval laws ?

This is why the law commission has proposed a change, still not done.

Do you know that Public health has recommended these better measures for decades and so far , we are reaching a change in our NHS but certainly not a change for the better in our quality of life ?

These health recommendations are related to quality of life in terms of sounds , light, cold , heat, vibration, water,  pollution of all kinds, and the peacefulness needed to be able to regenerate energy after a busy day…..(see examples in the post-updates )

Technology for insulation is there but who can use it with the true efficiency  it deserves ?  

Repairs can be done at a good standard of care.  

Why are these not readily available ?

STEPS TAKEN FOR 27 YEARS TO OBTAIN RECOGNITION( also in  update on the 4.10.2021 )

I bought my home when I was not far from 40 y old

In 1995, There was a lot of dampness , unknown disrepairs. I had no share of the freehold (FH) of my home flat.  No voice and No entitlement to insulate and repair my home properly.

In 1996 I rolled up my sleeves and said I will work until I manage to get my share and my entitlement to repairs and insulation

At the end of 2010 I acquired my share and proudly asked for my disrepairs to be tackled properly. 

In the meantime, my health had deteriorated from 2006 and my parents had become elderly  and needed the help of their children. 

In 2011 with the death of my father, my sister and I took in our hands the care of my mother who needed full time care

I was still waiting for my repairs and even offered in 2013 to pay for all of it myself but in 2014 my share of the FH disappeared by a legal loophole 

At the end of 2015 , my mother died, I lost my home flat as I was told by the landlord in 2016 that I had no lease anymore and if I wanted to have it back I would need to pay another 6 figures. 

I had already paid for the lease with the share freehold and was waiting for proper remedies to my disrepairs hoping for, at least, a peaceful end of life in my own space and especially with some quality. There have been patchy repairs and today I could defend myself better, I think, if I was 25 years younger. 

I refuse to let them steal my home  and I refuse not to have the proper repairs from bad  or non-existent proper building work and I am waiting for damage recognition by influential people. (2014-2021)

Signing and sharing to ask for the changes to be ratified into law is important TO STOP this to happen ever again 

The law commission asked us what we think of them . They brought some housing reform for us in July 2020 not approved yet.

DO NOT THINK THAT THE LAW COMMISSION WOULD HAVE MADE THE CHANGES POSSIBLE IF MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WAS NOT THERE AND MY CONTINUAL REFUSAL TO ACCEPT THE ABUSE OF MY HOUSING RIGHTS FOR MORE THAN A QUARTER OF A CENTURY. 

BUT IT IS NOT A DONE DEAL YET and there are many other areas to work on. This year 2022 l dare asking help to my MP and ask for your back up .

1.&2. You will bring down this WALL OF INERTIA  That allows unnecessarily so many wasted human life to happen

The vacuity of the law is too often felt by simple people.

Has it not been Forever that Housing Right is part of the right to exist and should not be  a matter of law added today to having the right existing technology applied, without waiting for the government to implement it ? 

However giving us the means to be able to do what is needed for us to live well in our homes is how a civilised society is recognised by.  

And for that please allow people who have lived and learned from the abuse of lacking the right amenities needed, when they were needed to prevent incurable illnesses, to help as they can give the right help . I waited 27 years because I believed that justice will prevail one day but it did not, so far. I have the 27 years of knowledge that I would like to share to prevent it in the future for others.
