Equality between Pharmacy students across the country

The Issue

The current climate and pandemic we are facing today has left us in a situation in which we as MPharm students feel as though we are unable to complete exams to the best of our abilities.

Some universities have take action to cancel examinations and also passed their students, particularly medical and pharmacy students, onto the next year. This is clearly the best option as of right now. Online examinations have been proven as an ineffective means of displaying a students full capabilities as a future pharmacist.

It has also come to our attention that a lot of students do not have the facilities to study, as universities and libraries across the country have closed. This prevents students from accessing public study spaces and the resources that come with them such as computers with relevant software packages and also stable broadband connections as many households have multiple individuals working from home which causes great disruption to our learning.

We as united pharmacy students under one banner of MPharm students feel that the decisions regarding examinations should be one for all universities to abide by as all pharmacy courses across England are under the same governance of the GPhC.
