What Policy do VicRoads have in place regarding family pets and other animals found deceased on public roads?
Do Council's have a Policy in place when they forward a call to VicRoads about a deceased animal?

DUMPED like trash by VICROADS!
It's time they told us what is happening to our pets!
At 730pm on Friday evening a beautiful family pet escaped her yard in Thomastown.

At 7.45pm a member of the public contacted the Whittlesea Council after hours contact and reported a deceased dog on the left shoulder exit of Edgars Road Thomastown.

The Council employee then contacted VicRoads as they are not able to attend on major roads.

On Sunday afternoon, Mark the owner of the dog was still frantically looking for his dog.

He posted his dog Sasha missing on a facebook lost pets group.

Sasha was microchipped, wearing a collar and Council registered.

Mark was informed that it was possible that it might have been Sasha that had been reported to VicRoads Friday evening, but that they hadn't picked up the dogs body instead they had dumped it over a concrete barrier into a pile of rubbish.
This sadly is not an isolated incident.

Sasha did not deserve to be treated in this appallingly inhumane manner.

She should have been picked up and scanned and her body given back to her family in a decent compassionate manner.

VicRoads this is the second time over the past few years that this issue has been raised, and the public have grown tired of your poor excuses.
