Schools are among the places parents entrust their children to be safe and free from gun violence. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. Schools have become hiding places for children trying to avoid armed and disgruntled classmates. It is not enough to say something when you see something. We need more protection for our loved ones. We need schools to adopt best practices and be proactive about our children's safety. Install metal detectors on every high school campus and require everyone to pass through them prior to entering the campus. We want our loved ones to be safe in the place where they spend the most time.
