We support prohibiting the spreading of misinformation through gossip because it cause conflict between the subject of the rumors and their community. This petition can prevent people from disseminating false information about a person, which can cause feelings of sadness, anxiety, and low self-esteem. It is challenging to stop gossip from spreading throughout society, especially, on social media sites where its contents make people happy. But it can also affect people's opinions and decision-making. 

If we are unable to resolve this problem, it may cause widespread mistrust, harm, and misunderstanding. It has the power to shatter relationships, distort perceptions, and damage the unity of society. In the end, it decreases the basis of trust that is necessary for a society to function properly.

The following are the goals of this petition:

1. To discourage the spreading of gossip which can harm and tarnish an individual's reputation without basis.
2. To lessen the spread of misinformation through gossips among communities.
3. To implement fact checking before believing baseless information.
4. To raise awareness on how to not believe rumors with no evidence.
