This week, the NHL and NHLPA announced the launch of a league-wide initiative to educate players on sexual assault and domestic violence. These ongoing training sessions aim to help players better understand how to prevent assault or violence. You can learn more here: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/2016/01/05/nhl-sexual-assault-harassment-domestic-violence-training/78300616/ This is an important step forward, and I commend the NHL for taking concrete action. But preventative education only addresses half the issue; the league still needs to establish a clear set of consequences for players who commit acts of domestic violence or sexual assault. The good news is that the league is moving in the right direction. We have an ample opportunity to keep attention on our cause between now and the All-Star Game at the end of the month, where accused rapist Patrick Kane will serve as a team captain. If you’re on Twitter, please take a moment to share this tweet to help us rally even more support: http://ctt.ec/uemb3 Thank you for your continued support of this campaign. Have a great weekend!
