I got to meet with Melvin Cooper the Director of the Gainesville Park and Recreation today. After receiving my skateboard petition he set up an appointment for me to meet with him and discuss the future skateboard park in Gainesville. Mr. Cooper and the Gainesville city are 100 % behind constructing a skateboard park. He drove me in his truck to the location where the park will be built. Let me tell you .. Gainesville City and Mr. Cooper are going all out,, Awesome plans ahead...There will be a first class skateboard park coming to Gainesville. The location is set and funding is set up for the FY 19 year. At this point it is a Gainesville City project. The Hall County Commissioners are not backing it. Originally it was to be a joint effort between the city and the county. The county backed out. As citizens of Hall County I urge you to contact our Hall County commissioners and let your opinions be known. I do believe Hall County should at least help fund this park. It will cater to everyone in Hall County. I will continue to keep you updated.
