This week the planning committee voted 5 votes to 3 in favour of OBJECTING to the planning application for the proposed Teviot Wind Farm.
This was in opposition to Scottish Borders Council report - which Incredibly recommended the scheme !
So good news, and thank you for all your signatures, copies of which have been sent to all the relevant persons.
And thank you to those Councillors who objected.
The decision will trigger a public enquiry - so the work continues - ultimately it is the Scottish Government who will make the final decision.
We now have 8 giant Wind Farm schemes proposed back to back - this across the region now recognised by UNESCO as the Frontiers of the Roman Empire.
In the face of this we now aim to raise a public debate to have this Unique geological complex, and lands of the Reivers, protected.
The picture shows a Selgovanian sculpture from the region - the face of those that stopped the Romans - also a map dotted with the volcanic vents of the Teviothead Volcanic Complex.
Fingers crossed this sculpture will be returning to the Borders of Scotland shortly…
