Improve the quality of Indian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive servers.
The Issue
Mr. Gabe Newell,
First of all, on the behalf of Indian CS:GO Community as whole, I would like to thank you for bringing dedicated official servers to India.
We are still a community that is growing, and introduction of Indian servers meant low ping, lag free multiplayer player experience.
ISPs in India are far from being decent, and we ranked 52 in Akamai 2014 rankings, with an average internet speed of of 2 MBps.
Hence, with the crippling internet infrastructure we currently have, multiplayer on SouthEast Asian servers was a mediocre experience, and Indian servers were supposed to changed that, but that is not the case.
Indian players experience HIGH packet loss, variance and excessive ping spikes. And that too isn't just limited to players with poor internet connectivity, these issues plague almost everyone playing on Indian Servers. And occasionally, Indian servers are not available during Matchmaking since they are "experiencing Heavy load". These problems extend to all modes, and cause major disruptions during Competitive game mode. Surprisingly, they are at much higher values than they were on Southeast Asian servers, except for the ping.
This is sad, especially when competitive scene in India is regaining momentum. CS:GO and Dota 2, both developed by Valve are premiere titles when it comes to eSports. We have teams that are actively participating in Valve Supported events, namely ESL and many more regional events.
Thus, we request you to persuade your Indian Server Providers to rectify these issues, and ensure high performance matchmaking and a delightful experience for not just Indian players, but all players of Indian Subcontinent including those from Pakistan and Bangladesh, since they also make up a good fraction of CS:GO player base in Asia.
We have faith in you, and know that this can be fixed.
