The Trump administration says it wants a baby boom. President Trump and Vice President JD Vance are promoting family formation as a national priority, with promises of bonuses and symbolic awards for new parents. But for the millions of Americans struggling with infertility, none of that matters if they can’t afford IVF.

In vitro fertilization isn’t a luxury—it’s the only path to parenthood for many families. Yet IVF can cost over $20,000 per cycle, and most insurance plans still refuse to cover it. The administration has pledged to release a report on IVF access this May, but unless it includes real funding and protections, families will be left behind.

For those who want to grow their families but face infertility, IVF is not a culture war issue—it’s health care. The administration’s call for a “baby boom” cannot be taken seriously without a commitment to making fertility care affordable and accessible.

We’re calling on the White House to make IVF funding a core part of any national birthrate policy. Families deserve support that’s rooted in science and compassion, not just slogans or tax credits. If the Trump administration wants more babies, it must support the people fighting to have them.
