He described writing down flight callsigns on paper because the radar and radios were failing. He said he almost witnessed a mid-air collision. He’s not alone, multiple controllers are on trauma leave.

Newark’s air traffic facility is running at nearly half the staffing it needs. Equipment outages have left planes flying blind. And this isn’t just a Newark problem, it’s a national crisis in the making.

We’re calling on the U.S. Department of Transportation and Congress to immediately fund air traffic controller staffing and replace outdated tech at high-risk airports across the country. This isn’t about flight delays. This is about keeping planes from crashing.
