While we have experienced a huge success at the state level with the passage of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future, which adds $1 billion in school funding over the next 3 years, locally, we are still way behind.  The County Executive is spinning the numbers to make it seem like HCPS will be fully funded next year, but that is simply NOT THE CASE!  Our schools are facing a $35 million shortfall.  Fully funding the Board of Education's request for an additional $15 million from the county will aid in cutting the deficit, but only if state AND COUNTY funds are allocated for education.  Please follow this link for full details about the funding struggles in Harford County.

At this point, the County Executive has let his priorities be known, and education IS NOT one of them.  We are turning to the County Council to find the additional funds in the county budget to send a message that education is a top priority in this county.  THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE to secure fair funding for our students.  SHOW UP on May 9th!  Let your voices be heard!
