SD 61's lease for land is the latest salvo of systemic inequality that has negatively impacted Vic High Students for more than five decades.  This funny yet serious video says it all. SD61 is supporting the City of Victoria's plans to take Vic High land- intended for educational needs (including athletic programs) to make it available to developers.

As a result, the decade-long plans for revitalizing Memorial Stadium have now been gutted. An eight-lane metric track is proposed to be replaced by a two-lane walking track. A multi-sport turf field with lights shelved in favour of a small field (not big enough to play rugby). And some genius proposed four beach volleyball courts - a sport that is not a standard high school sport- not to mention the school is not located in sunny California.
