URGENT: WE NEED YOUR VOTE AT VIC HIGH ALUMNI BOARD AGM ON JUNE 21, @ 6:30PM (VIA ZOOM)

Hello Supporters.

We need help from all of you who are Alumni of Vic High.

Please read the instructions below. 

As you may be aware, the Friends of Vic High have been battling SD61, the City, and the current Victoria High School Alumni Association (VHSAA) Board in our efforts to stop them from taking land away from students.

Specifically, the VHSAA has endorsed the plan that would see the original plans for the Memorial Stadium revitalization compromised – only allowing for a 2-lane walking track and a field only barely big enough to play soccer- not Rugby. The VHSAA also raised funds for the original plan and has agreed to use these same funds for other purposes. We are trying to stop this from happening.

We are looking to replace the out-of-touch board with amazing Alumni and community leaders who will stand for election on the board on June 21, 2021, at 6:30PM PST – the VHSAA Annual General Meeting.

Here is the list of Alumni candidates who have agreed to stand for the seven board positions up for election.  Taki Niketas (83, Hans de Goede (71), Sean Gorman (84), Maureen Vipond (83), Stephen Dorsey(84), Moe Elewonibi (83), Richard Hunt (71) 
 
Here’s how you can help. Deadline. June 18 @ 11:59PM
STEP 1. Ensure that you are registered as a VHSAA member. Go to this link if you are unsure. https://vichigh.com/alumni-directory/?mc_cid=68f4bcc449

STEP 2. If you are not listed, register as a member at this link. https://vichigh.com/alumni-register/?mc_cid=68f4bcc449

STEP 3. Register for the AGM (WILL BE A ZOOM MEETING). Send an email to: info@vichigh.com noting your full name and year of graduation. IMPORTANT: YOU NEED TO DO THIS BY JUNE 18, 2021 by 11:59 PM to be eligible to vote. Once confirmed, they will send you an email with zoom access info. If they do not, let us know asap.

STEP 4. Email Taki Niketas at: tniketas@shaw.ca and let him know you are registered for the AGM and provided him with your contact information so we can send you a reminder.

STEP 5. Attend via Zoom the AGM @ 6:30PM PST on June 21 (the zoom and vote for our slate of director nominees.
