This school has an extremly sexist dress code, and when you ask them about it they make excuses. They say "it's a distraction" That is unsupportable. Boys and girls are responsible for their behavior and reactions. They should not be entitled to comment on girls’ bodies regardless of what girls wear. Not ever.
This relentless prosecution of women for their personal sartorial choices sends the message that school is for boys and that girls are welcome to attend if, and only if, they do not distract those rightful occupiers of the classroom. We are treated like children in restaurants: we can be there if we're on our best behavior, but one false move and we're swiftly deported from the scene. If you are truly so concerned that a boy in this school will get distracted by my upper back, shoulders, and mid-drift.  Then he needs to be sent home and practice self-control. A girl should be able to wear what she wants as long as it covers her inappropriate parts. Another excuse they use is "everyone should be comfortable in a learning environment" If a teacher is that concerned about us being comfortable...than their students should be allowed to wear what they please. Again a terrible excuse is "this is a professional place so you have to dress accordingly to that." we are children/teens being sexualized for a piece/pieces of clothing. The dress code should be the same for both genders.
