B-CC’s new Principal Dr. Howard agreed last week to a request from Whitman’s Principal to move their football game (B-CC is hosting) from Friday, 30 October, to Thursday, 29 October.  This also happens to be the final regular season game and Senior Night for all the seniors on the football team, cheer, Pep Band and POMS.  She agreed to the change with no communication to the B-CC community even though schedule was set in July.

The Whitman principal is apparently concerned about violence following an altercation in Whitman’s parking lot after last year’s game. Rather than addressing security concerns they choose to penalize all the stakeholders (athletes, band members, student body, families).  Thursday night games are rough on all stakeholders/ they have school the next morning at 7:45, and this comes at the very end of 1st Quarter.  This will be B-CC’s 5th Thursday night game this year, absolute inequity within MCPS high schools.
