Dear Fremont Citizens, The Fremont Citizens' Network formally endorses Lily Mei for the Fremont Mayoral race. Among numerous credits, she has aptly served Fremont as a Trustee of the Fremont school board (6yrs) and as City Council Member (2yrs). We have depended on Lily, not only to show up to eight years of FUSD and City Council board meetings, but to arrive informed and prepared to vote intelligently. She has shown herself to be caring and polite in her addresses to the community. We believe she will continue to provide her unbiased, independent votes as mayor, and deliver a new tone and direction for the City Council. See her voting record on some recent development votes (link below). FCN supports Lily Mei, recognizing that it takes money to run political campaigns, and that clean money is scarce. She has consistently refused developer money in her campaigns. It costs tens of thousands of dollars to mail just one small flier, even to send only to registered voters. Your VOTE FOR LILY MEI is critical as she will be overwhelmingly outspent by the incumbent opposition. Lily Mei has shown, in this and previous campaigns, that she is the most frugal candidate by leafletting with low cost, environmentally friendly, plain paper flyers (1/2 to ¼ sheets), and using volunteers to deliver them (and WINNING). Word of mouth and community support are key to running this type of campaign. We encourage all our members and supporters to join us in helping Lily with your time, enthusiasm and funding. Even if you cannot vote, please consider hosting a “meet Lily event”, publicizing her candidacy to your friends and neighbors, planting her signs, helping to distribute her flyers, and donating funds. She has been working to improve our schools, ease our traffic, and improve our quality of life, while her opponent has taken tens of thousands of dollars from developers, and repaid them by voting YES on development projects for the past ten years.
