An Investigation into DCHS and Director; Tamar Reed

An Investigation into DCHS and Director; Tamar Reed
The Issue
This is a petition calling for an investigation into the practices of the DCHS (Dodge County Humane Society) and their acting director, Tamar Reed. After years passing, and many citizens of our community bringing up questions and concerns about the DCHS and the way they operate, it is time for them to undergo a thorough investigation into their business practice.
The idea of the Humane Society and what they are supposed to stand for is a beautiful thing, however, many of us within Dodge County have reasonable suspicion that the DCHS is not operating in such a way to protect the animals within our community and are not proactively working with the citizens of Dodge County who show interest in adopting their animals.
There have been multiple accounts of animals just "disappearing" from this facility after potential adopters showing interest in a particular animal within their custody.
There have been several accounts of adopters finding out that their animal has not either been spayed/neutered and/or lacked receiving vaccines after paying the adoption fee to the DCHS, which is supposed to cover the above-listed services.
FurEver Home, Inc. and Animal Medical Clinic in Dodge County have both strongly opposed the practices of the DCHS, and for good reason.
Personally, my family and I adopted an 8-year-old black lab from our daughter and son-in-law because they are expecting and already have two big dogs. The dog initially came from the DCHS back in 2017.
This past week we noticed our dog Bessie (Jetta) was lactating and dripping blood. This led me to call the DCHS to make this right since they are responsible for all adopted animals being spayed/neutered and chipped.
I receive a phone call from Tamar Reed telling me to meet her at the Pet Hospital in Arlington so Bessie can have an exam done by their vet, to find out if she is spayed or not.
After waiting outside of the clinic for an hour, Tamar Reed then approaches me saying that since my son-in-law was the original adopter and not present, our dog now belongs to the DCHS. I then watched Tamar load our 8-year-old family dog up in a van and is now kenneled at the DCHS, where we may not see her again.
This is just my family's personal experience with the DCHS and there have been many more experiences just like this before ours. If you agree and would like to see a change for the better, please sign this petition and take a stand for our four-legged friends.
