The Government's measures to help self employed workers has left people who have only become self employed in the past 12 months completely exposed and without any sort of financial support from the Governmenr during the lockdown for COVID-19, all this through no fault of their own.

Because they have never had to file their accounts up until now, the Government are not willing to assist them financially despite the fact that in many cases the person was previously employed and their earnings desclared to HMRC. 

There are many thousands of people who have only turned to self employment in the past twelve months. Many of these people have had a tough time getting started in business and need financial help more than ever right now. Whilst many employed and established self employed people have had a significent helping hand from the Government, there are lots who cannot count on the same support and this is something we are calling on Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak and the Government to review carefully. These people are facing financial hardship and need more assistance.
