Parastoo Ahmadi, a 29 year old Iranian singer is being sentenced to 74 lashes along with 8 of her bandmates along with additional punishments. Her crime? Choosing not to wear a hijab in her live performance of the Caravanserai Concert at Dayr-e Gachin Caravanserai.

This is 2026. And this is the reality of thousands if not millions of women worldwide. Many others have suffered the same sentence as Ahmadi (and worse) under the Iranian Regime.

Enough is enough. Freedom of expression CAN NEVER be a crime. Her voice should not be silenced. She does not deserve to suffer for these “crimes”.
