Today the UN Commission for Human Rights in South Sudan released a damning report uncovering horrific acts of brutality committed by South Sudanese government and opposition soldiers towards ordinary South Sudanese people, especially women and girls.

In their report, UN investigators also write that "there are reasonable grounds to believe" that the National Security Service - Peter's captors - have "committed arbitrary detention, torture ... cruel, inhuman, and degrading acts, killings, and enforced disappearances of detainees."

Peter is still imprisoned without charge. Thankfully, he has been spared from the worst atrocities due to the huge international public outcry over his imprisonment. But the UN report makes his case all the more urgent, and reminds us that alongside Peter there are many others who are detained without charge, and who are also vulnerable to the National Security Service's cruelty.

This is why we need to keep pressuring South Sudan's government to release Peter, and all others detained without charge. South Sudan's government needs to know that they can no longer act with impunity.

Please keep sharing Peter's petition with your networks. Since the last update, nearly 30,000 new signatures have come. We're nearly at 100,000. Let's keep it up.
