Dear FreeAbdus Supporters,

Peace and blessings to each of you. I hope this message finds you well and encouraged.

As we move through February, I want to start by saying thank you for your continued commitment, consistency, and love for justice. Because of your efforts, we have now reached 261 petition signatures. This is powerful—but we know we can grow this even further. Please continue sharing the petition with your networks, family, friends, and community.

We are also ramping up our advocacy actions. At this time, we are asking everyone to continue sending emails and messages to State’s Attorney Maureen Platt and Chief State’s Attorney Patrick Griffin, urging them to vacate the charges and free Abdus. Your voices matter, and consistent pressure makes a difference.

We are currently waiting to hear back from several senators and legislators regarding upcoming meetings.  If meetings are not scheduled, we are prepared to show up with signs and presence at Judiciary, Children, Education, and Finance Committee meetings to ensure our message is heard. We will not allow silence to replace accountability.

The Wrongful Conviction Relief Act is about more than one man. It represents:

Men and women torn from their families
Children who feel abandoned and confused by a parent's incarceration
Communities that lose voices, votes, and leadership
Ongoing state harm that the Constitution is meant to protect us from
We are fighting for due process, transparency, and accountability—for all.
