The second point that I am going to highlight is based on a young man named Hak ( pronounced Hock)(Red money Hack).Hak has a speech impediment a somewhat severe impediment. During the Cypha I was truly shocked to hear Hak in the middle of the Cypha absolutely bombing the beat. He was confident, clear, assertive, engaging, he was a true MC. Now I must point out the complexities of language, the sentence structure and the verbal dexterity necessary to be a true MC. Hip hop at its finest involves metaphors, punch lines, cluster consonants, complex, rhyming, all the while entertaining and remaining on beat. Hak accomplished all of these linguistic feats seamlessly, effortlessly, without hesitation, without one single stutter. One would never suspect that this man struggles with a speech impediment. Hak had complete control of the beat, the crowd and his "impediment". This ability to make the English language his, this absolute master course in linguistics, made me think. Why weren't those charged with educating our youth able to assist Hak with overcoming this " impediment? There is clearly and without doubt nothing about this young black man that stops him from accomplishing great feats with the English language. So, I surmise that it is the failing of those that were responsible for that developmental phase. Was it incompetence? Was it a lack of resources, was it a lack of empathy? Did some decide that overcoming this impediment for him was unimportant? I have no way of answering these questions. What I do know is, this man (Red Money Hak), has no innate impediment, he is capable of everything that is possible concerning the English language. I have seen and heard it for myself. I am witness to the impact of his words. I saw the respect he garnered, I felt chills as he explained his life, showed vulnerabilities and gave up that pain. Red Money, I am a supporter, a fan and the next time I write I am going to talk about what is next for myself, Red money and SRC
