Free The Wishlists, Sony (and ideally Nintendo too)! Make our wishlists longer.

The Issue

Your Wishlist is full.

We The Gamers like games. We like to buy games, and we like to plan to buy upcoming games. That's why most store platforms have a wishlist, so you can wish for, follow, and keep track of games you want to get. Sometimes this is because you don't have the cash to pay full price for a specific game right now, and other times it's because a game isn't out yet.

However, shockingly Sony's PlayStation store only allows you to add a measly 100 games to your wishlist. I've hit that limit solely since setting up my PS5 two weeks ago, and I'm already having to constantly remove things that I'd like to keep wishlisted. Why? This doesn't encourage people to just buy the games then and there - a lot of them aren't even available TO buy yet! Realistically it means people remove games from their wishlist to make space for newer games, meaning that older games suffer, and don't get put into people's feeds as easily when they go on sale etc. If you want to sell games, then make it as easy and as limitless as possible for people to wishlist them so they're able to buy them at the right time. It's that simple!

Steam's wishlist, for example, is seemingly limitless. I have 5664 games on my wishlist, and this might seem like a ridiculous amount but every time there's a Steam sale of some sort, you can guarantee I'll be reminded about some of them, and pick up some hidden gem that I would otherwise completely forget.

Game development is the most accessible it's ever been, and there are more games than ever releasing every week. Having a Wishlist limit of merely 100 games is ridiculous, and is going to not only prevent gamers from recalling some hidden gems, but also harm smaller developers who don't get the same marketing and storefront promotion as the big boys.

So come on Sony, #FreeTheWishlists please!

Nintendo's wishlist has a cap of 200, which is better but still way too low, so Nintendo, if you see this, please increase your cap too. Thanks!

I personally believe that is the single most important gaming cause for gamers to get behind right now, and I urge any of you who love video games and like being able to keep track of cool upcoming titles, or ones you just can't afford right now, or want to wait on for any reason, to sign this super important petition that I've made. Even if you're not a Sony gamer, do us all a solid and help out! Let's get this issue some real traction. I believe in you all! I believe in WE THE GAMERS.
