We are calling on the Government of Grenada to immediately release the innocent yacht owners and their vessels trapped at Tyrell Bay Marina, Carriacou.

 

These boat owners are not parties to the land dispute that has resulted in their vessels being unable to leave. They have done nothing wrong, yet they have been trapped for months and prevented from accessing the facilities needed to launch their boats and continue their journeys.

For some, these vessels are their homes and contain virtually everything they own.

Now there is an urgent additional danger.

We are well into the 2026 Caribbean hurricane season. The owners are being prevented from moving their vessels to safety if a major storm threatens Carriacou.

They face the terrifying possibility of losing their homes, boats and possessions, while being unable to take the normal precautions that would protect them.

There may also be no insurance available to cover a loss resulting from being prevented from moving their vessels.

We are NOT asking the Government to decide the land dispute.

That is for the courts and the parties involved.

We simply ask the Government to provide a lawful temporary solution that allows these innocent third-party boat owners to retrieve their vessels and leave.

This situation is also damaging Grenada's reputation as a safe and welcoming destination for international yacht owners and marine tourists.

 

Please sign this petition and help put pressure on the Government of Grenada to act before a hurricane turns this already serious situation into a catastrophe.
